The general hours of work are 42 hours per week, with travel required for attending sites and meetings.

About the role
Were seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Leyland. In this role, you will be responsible and involved in the preparation of tenders and works opportunities and the compilation of all ‘in contract’ quotations. You will also provide support to the commercial teams for secured works. Managing your own workload, you will liaise with operational teams. Fostering excellent working relationships both internally and externally, maximising all potential business leads and supporting growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess tender/quotation conditions upon receipt and identify any risk
* Provide tender handover packs demonstrating strategy at tender stage on all successful bids
* Account Management of a diverse and often time critical customer base
* Review unsuccessful tenders and analyse and implement an improvement strategy for future bids to ensure growth targets are met
* Understanding and engaging with colleagues remit/workloads for holiday cover
* Ensuring delivery and communication of a quality ‘end-to-end’ process for the customer
* Assist the commercial team on compensation events build-ups
* Attend pre-tender meetings/events
* Carry out other appropriate duties as assigned by your line manager
Requirements
You approach your work with logic, accuracy, and a methodical mindset. You possess strong oral, verbal, and written communication skills, and thrive both when working independently using your own initiative and as a collaborative member of a close-knit team.
Skills
* Proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office suite of software and the ability to work with other business management systems
* An ability to network and create new business relationships
* Essential to have the interpersonal skills to be able to interface successfully with a wide range of people both within and outside the company
* Attention to detail and ability to think laterally and problem solve
* Prioritise workload and demonstrate customer engagement
