Cancer Patient Pathway Co-ordinator

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for the Band 4 Cancer Patient Pathway Co-ordinator role as this role is not eligible for sponsorship in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as this role does not meet the skill level required.

The Cancer Patient Pathway Co-ordinator role is an exciting opportunity to begin your career in the NHS. The role is suitable for recent graduates or undergraduates. NHS experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have responsibility for co-ordinating the activities of the cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings & supporting multiple cancer patient PTLs. This will include liaising with a number of departments within the Trust & other hospitals. The post holder will be involved in providing core services to ensure that a comprehensive list of patients is formulated & all documentation is available for the MDT meetings. Ensuring the meetings run effectively, are well structured & all patient discussions are accurately recorded on the Somerset Cancer Register (SCR). This role is generic & the post holder will be expected to work as part of a team to provide cover for other members of the CPPC team across UHNM.

The successful applicant will be patient focused, have excellent communication, organisational, IT skills & will be familiar with Trust administration systems. Previous experience of working in a cancer services team & an understanding of the CWT rules would be an advantage however, other relevant experience with transferrable skills will be considered.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to a minimum of HNC/Diploma level or equivalent experience
* Qualifications should be in a health care or computing sciences related topic.


Experience

* Experience in a similar administrative role
* Previous experience within a hospital environment


Skills

* Computer Literacy Able to use the full MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
* Experience of data handling, analysis and reporting including report writing
* Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Ability to establish rapport and credibility with medical staff, clinicians and other staff
* Experience with Hospital IT and patient administration systems or with complex databases.
* Experience of involvement in service improvement initiatives.
* Experience of audit processes
