Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £100M and nearly 700 staff.The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield, Kidderminster where we now have a requirement for 2 permanent Multi-skilled Engineers.Summary of Role Use both mechanical and electrical engineering skills / knowledge to maintain and enhance the performance of plant and equipment. Provide first class, flexible support to production requirements and factory services at all times by means of the application of electrical/mechanical skills in fault-finding/diagnostics, planned preventative maintenance practices and electrical/mechanical installation. ResponsibilitiesComply with all statutory Safety, Health and Environment requirements. Ensure accurate & timely records are entered / recorded of all work carried out, root causes of failures and of spares / consumables usedEnsure maintenance engineering downtime is accurately logged, monitor repair times, and find new methods / procedures to reduce these utilising our CMMS (computerised maintenance management system)To work as part of the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is deliveredPerforming detailed preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with schedulesFault diagnosis and rectification on all plant and equipment within the manufacturing facilityIdentifying the root cause of asset faults, improving asset performance and reliability to meet operational objectivesProvide a fast and efficient response time to any plant breakdowns that occur, whilst ensuring all company procedures and standards are adhered toTo work and train new apprentices in a maintenance disciplineThe ideal candidate wil have the following skills, knowledge and behaviours: EssentialRecognised electrical and mechanical qualifications A recognised time-served Mechatronics apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering maintenance disciplineA proven maintenance engineering professional with high standards of electrical and mechanical understanding and competenciesExpertise in fault diagnosis and rectification processes, and planned and corrective maintenance activities gained from within a similar role as part of an industrial maintenance team Ability to work to find root cause of failure in reactive maintenance scenarios, and implement permanent corrective actionsThe ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematicsExperience with Microsoft office and CMMS (computerised Maintenance management system)DesirableKnowledge and understanding of health and safety processesKnowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures and deliverablesUnderstanding of environmental controls and practices18th Edition BS7671 certificated2391/52 inspection and testing qualifiedPLC programming and fault findingPerson SpecificationAbility to work in a diverse and dynamic environmentPerformance driven and self-motivatedStrong planning and prioritising activitiesGood communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organisationProblem solving skillsAbility to work on their own and with a teamGenuine interest and amplitude in maintenance and engineering disciplines
