Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the engineering function, providing strategic and technical direction across all subsea construction and decommissioning projects.
2. Line Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture aligned with DeepOcean’s ACT values.
3. Undertake Performance Development dialogues with direct reports and promote collaboration across the engineering team to improve core competencies and facilitate continuous professional development, and growth of team capability
4. Oversee the development and submission of all technical tender documentation, ensuring accurate, innovative, and cost competitive solutions that align with DeepOcean's commercial strategies and client requirements.
5. Oversee the technical execution of awarded projects, ensuring all engineering deliverables (e.g., design, method statements, calculations, drafting) are completed to the highest standards and in full compliance with governing processes, safety and regulatory requirements.
6. Implement engineering governance and best practices to support consistency, efficiency, and quality across all bids and projects. Champion lessons learned and continuous improvement processes across tenders and live projects to drive performance.
7. Collaborate with project managers, operations, HSE, and client stakeholders to deliver efficient, cost-effective engineering solutions.
8. Manage the engineering resource estimation for both tenders and projects to ensure all project teams and commercial functions are adequately resourced. Focus on optimizing utilization and driving efficiencies across the business.
9. Drive innovation in engineering methods, technology adoption, and process improvement.
10. Represent engineering in internal and external reviews, audits, and client meetings.
11. Provide input and ownership of the Engineering Department budget.
12. Collaborating with peers in other regions, ensure the efficient allocation of resources and work packages, and actively promotes a consistent approach to technical delivery across the entire business.
13. Actively develop external and internal relationships, and work with industry working groups and professional bodies as required ensuring DeepOcean remains at the forefront of execution excellence.
Who we are looking for:
14. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Structural, Marine, Subsea). Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) preferred.
15. Minimum 12 years’ relevant experience in subsea construction, offshore engineering, or decommissioning.
16. Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
17. Strong understanding of offshore construction vessels, ROV systems, and subsea equipment.
18. Familiarity with relevant standards (DNV, API, ISO) and regulatory frameworks.
19. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Training
29. All DeepOcean employees must complete required training programs set by the company within specified deadlines.

30. As part of the governance of the Company, employees are required to promptly inform their Line Manager of any significant matters regarding departmental or company performance.
