Knowledge, Leadership, and Management
1. Support modern matrons in providing nursing leadership on physical health care.
2. Contribute to and deliver teaching sessions to multidisciplinary team members to pass on specialist knowledge and skills.
3. Manage and prioritize own caseload within the Mental Health inpatient setting, demonstrating highly developed organizational skills.
4. Support junior nurses, students, and other MDT members as needed.
5. Act as a role model, educator, coach, mentor, and supervisor in joint working.
6. Maintain accurate written records of service user details and care in line with Trust policy, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
7. Ensure the physical health needs of service users are met through advice, support, and health education for both service users and carers.
8. Perform additional duties as requested by senior managers.
9. Take responsibility for ordering and maintaining stocks of clinical supplies.

Clinical Responsibilities
1. Provide physical health nursing expertise within the Mental Health Inpatient setting for people with SMI.
2. Collaborate with staff across the inpatient setting to deliver high-standard physical health care.
3. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate holistic care for complex presentations.
4. Take responsibility for immediate care interventions within the inpatient setting.
5. Provide advice on acute and chronic wound care and end-of-life care.
6. Offer infection control advice and guidance.
7. Engage in proactive health promotion with all patients, utilizing the Lester Tool.
8. Develop and undertake advanced nursing procedures in accordance with nursing principles, NMC guidelines, and GHC policies.
9. Utilize excellent clinical decision-making skills to ensure safe and effective care.
