Overview

For you, that will mean planning and implementing the kind of care that will give our residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know our residents and their families, helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants and be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care and being a positive influence on the team. Whether you are showing someone how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of their life to eat a meal, or talking to a resident's family on the phone, you will do so with kindness as the guiding principle. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager and be involved in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.


Responsibilities

* Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care, influencing the team to provide person-centered care.
* Support residents and families to ensure personalised care plans and dignified, respectful interactions.
* Assist with activities that provide physical and mental stimulation and may include helping with meals and daily living tasks.
* Support the administration of medications in collaboration with the nursing team.


Qualifications

* Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 or equivalent.
* Background in person-centered care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
* Your essential qualities are positive energy, the ability to get along with people, good record-keeping, time management, and being truly considerate and kind in all communications with residents and colleagues.
* Safeguarding: ability to recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect; attend safeguarding training appropriate to the role and undertake additional training as required; know how to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
