Salary: £14,600 - 16,480 per year Requirements:
* Juniper experience
* Experience installing switches and firewalls

* Good understanding of network fundamentals and troubleshooting
* Good experience of configuring / policy configuration / troubleshooting Juniper firewalls, switches and routers
* Knowledge of WAN/LAN design, device clustering, high availability
* Familiarity with Junos Space, Security Director, Apstra Security Platforms: FortiGate, F5 BIG-IP, Pulse Secure / Ivanti
* Experience with Identity & Access Management: Cisco ISE, Windows NPS (RADIUS / 802.1X)
* Proficiency with Monitoring & Observability tools: SolarWinds, Splunk
* Knowledge of Core Network Services: IPAM, DHCP, DNS
* Understanding of PKI / certificate generation and renewal
* Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Ability to document processes and configurations clearly
* Desirable criteria:
* Juniper and Cisco certification preferred but experience is more important
* Data Centre experience advantageous
* Extreme Switch knowledge desirable
Responsibilities:
* Reviewing the status of various networks daily and logging incidents
* Escalating any likely breaches of agreed deadlines to the Network Manager
* Working with customers, project leads, 3rd parties, and other stakeholders to resolve technical service issues
* Creating Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for projects if required
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on network technologies
* Assisting with capacity and availability management of various networks
* Investigating and resolving problems within their own area of responsibility
* Provisioning network services and devices where appropriate

We are currently looking for a Network and Firewall Specialist to join our team for a 12-month contract based on site in Aldermaston, 5 days a week. This role requires on-site presence with limited flexibility and may involve some travel for overnight stays as well as occasional evening and weekend work. Our ideal candidate will hold Developed Vetting (DV Clearance) and be a sole UK national. We offer competitive pay rates and the possibility of extending the contract.
