As an Accountant within the specialist bloodstock and equine team, you will manage a portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services tailored to the unique needs of the industry.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing a portfolio of clients across the bloodstock, racing, and equestrian sectors
* Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and tax computations
* Providing tailored financial advice and advisory support to clients
* Attending client meetings, including visits to training yards, stud farms, racecourses, and rural businesses
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive communication
* Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
* Reviewing work completed by junior staff and assisting with their development
* Assisting with agricultural and equine tax planning matters
* Working with cloud accounting software including Xero and QuickBooks

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) and will have experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
Key requirements include:
* Previous experience within general practice accountancy
* Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and VAT
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Experience using cloud accounting platforms such as Xero and QuickBooks
* Ability and willingness to travel to client sites and rural locations
* Experience working with rural, agricultural, or equine clients would be advantageous
* A genuine interest in horse racing, bloodstock, or the wider equine industry is highly desirable
Candidates with specialist bloodstock experience may also be considered on a remote basis.
