A Fantastic Opportunity: SAP Senior Authorised Person
We are seeking a responsible Senior Authorised Person for our operation in Middlesbrough (3 days per week) and flexibility within the North East region of our operations the remaining 2 days per week. This will be site dependent based around ongoing works and hence we are seeking someone with that regional flexibility. For site you will have a sound working knowledge and understanding of commercial contracts, customer relationships and electrical safety, particularly being accountable for making the electricity network and working environment safe for our crafts people to carry out work, ensuring all operational staff and sub-contractors have the correct skills, competencies and authorisations to carry out allocated work.
As part of the operational team, the Senior Authorised Person will own all elements including testing and commissioning of high voltage and low voltage electrical maintenance and construction projects on private and distribution networks, in accordance with HSE legislation and Electricity North West safe working practices.
Accountable for all electrical safety, including on various complex network connections, carrying out a full risk assessment to provide a safe working environment in accordance with ENW CoP’s, Distribution Safety Rules, CDM and HSE Legislation
Demonstrate compliance with customer contract obligations, manage sub-contractor commercial terms whilst at all times promoting a culture of excellent customer service within the operations team and providing an excellent service to our Customers
Deliver on time, to budget, maximising profit wherever possible ensuring compliance and commercial obligations
Be the key point of contact for the Customer, providing a high level of expert, technical advice and options, planning for both current and future potential projects
Perform Out of Area stand-by duties if required, for fault response and restoration activities
Lead the adherence to customers policies and procedures specific to each customers site
Manage own development ensuring continuous improvement and stretch in role
For this role we are able to consider flexible working options, including condensed hours and part time. There is also opportunity for agile working following completion of your probationary period.
What we’re looking for
We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who meet the following criteria:
Trained and experienced as a site engineer (authorised person) for switching and managing work on Low Voltage and High Voltage networks. You will also require the following:
Experience working with Low voltage and High voltage electrical system components, plant and equipment
Experience working on construction, maintenance and fault investigation projects
A minimum of a Higher National Certificate, equivalent qualification or an electrical Senior Authorised Person authorisation
ENW 11kV SAP including Control Directed Switching (Essential)
Have knowledge and an appreciation of HV construction procedures
