Web Developer
Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Web Developer to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary. This role will be fully from office.

As a Web Developer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality, user‑focused websites and web applications that support the organisation’s goals. The primary purpose of the role is to translate business and user requirements into functional, visually appealing, and responsive digital solutions.
The Web Developer will ensure that all web platforms are secure, accessible, optimised for performance, and aligned with industry best practices. The postholder will work closely with cross‑functional teams—including design, content, marketing, and IT—to enhance the digital experience, resolve issues, and implement improvements that drive user engagement and operational efficiency.

Website Performance & Reliability
7. Uptime consistently maintained at 99% or above.
8. Page load speeds meet agreed performance benchmarks across devices.
9. Number of recurring bugs or system errors reduced over time.
Quality of Code & Deliverables
10. Code passes quality reviews with minimal revisions required.
11. Successful deployment of new features and updates with limited post-release issues.
12. Adherence to organisational coding standards and best practices.
Project Delivery & Timeliness
13. Projects and enhancements delivered within agreed timeframes.
14. Percentage of tasks completed on schedule measured through sprint or project tracking.
15. Effective management of workload and accurate estimation of development times.
User Experience & Accessibility
16. Websites meet accessibility standards (., WCAG 2.1) as measured by compliance tools.
17. Positive user feedback or reduced volume of usability-related queries.
18. Continuous improvements based on user behaviour analytics.

What we’re looking for in our Web Developer:
29. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related field.
30. Equivalent experience or relevant professional certifications (., Google Professional Web Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer, CIW Web Development) may also be considered.
31. 2 - 3 years existing experience within a similar role
32. Proven experience as a Web Developer, Front-End Developer, or Full-Stack Developer.
33. Demonstrable portfolio of websites or web applications.
34. Experience working with responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first development.
35. Experience with API integration, version control, and modern development workflows.
36. Experience working within agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) is desirable
37. Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector
