What you will be doing
as a Supply Chain Technician
Order & Inventory Management
1. Process and plan customer orders from receipt through to completion and delivery.
2. Manage urgent or high-priority orders, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
3. Maintain accurate inventory records, perform stock checks, and support replenishment planning.
4. Monitor supplier deliveries, track inbound shipments, and flag delays or delivery issues.
5. Act as a point of contact for supplier delivery queries and escalate issues appropriately.
Distribution Centre Operations
6. Support the Warehouse Operations Manager in the daily running of the distribution centre.
7. Carry out key administrative tasks relating to warehouse, logistics, and inventory operations.
8. Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant warehouse environment.
9. Handle and prioritise urgent orders, liaising with stakeholders across the supply chain, inventory, and logistics teams to ensure timely resolution.
Supplier Delivery Coordination
10. Act as a site-based point of contact for supplier delivery issues, escalating concerns to the supply chain team as needed.
11. Track inbound shipments, flagging delays or non-compliance with agreed delivery schedules.
Data & Reporting
12. Provide regular updates to the wider supply chain team on inventory performance, stock discrepancies, and delivery statuses.
13. Support project activity by providing operational insight and process knowledge.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
14. Liaise daily with supply chain, logistics, customer service, and procurement teams to align on priorities.
15. Represent operations in supply chain meetings and support cross-functional improvement projects.
Location – Didcot, Oxfordshire.
Working Hours – Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
16. Experience in supply chain, inventory management, or warehouse operations within a logistics or distribution environment.
17. Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
18. Strong administrative skills with high attention to detail and organisational capability.
19. Experience working with ERP or inventory systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
20. Ability to handle urgent orders and resolve problems effectively under pressure.
21. Good understanding of health and safety requirements in a warehouse or DC setting.
