You’ll be at the core of Screwfix, making sure our customers are the heart of everything we do. You’ll take your time to really get to know them whilst delivering genuinely great service. Our Retail Assistants are vital to the running of a store, so you’ll always be kept busy. And with the help of our excellent training programmes and varied shift patterns to support a healthy work life balance, you’ll be on the right track for a promising career with us!
Working Hours
Monday – Friday: 7am – 8pm
Saturday: 7am – 6pm
Sunday: 9am – 4pm

Training Programme
We’re growing, and we want our people grow with us. That’s why we pull out all the stops to make sure our people continue to learn and develop new skills.
* First Steps to Management – 16‑week programme to move Service Assistants into management. Offers a clear path to a Trade Counter Supervisor role.
* Power Up to Trade+ – 12‑15 month programme with a Trade Supplier Apprenticeship at Level 2, blending practical and online learning to become a Trade+ Sales Supervisor.
* Trade Up to Branch Manager – over 15 months, you’ll receive structured learning and supervision to run a store, ending with a Level 4 Retail Manager Apprenticeship.
* Learning for Life – opportunity for all business levels to learn wider life skills, with Maths and English coaching.
