This role is located in Marchwood, within the Cawood Scientific Environment Division. Learn more about Marchwood by clicking here. Job Description: We're filthy, and we're proud of it. Chemtech Environmental is a leading Soil, Waste and Water testing provider. We analyse samples for environmental contaminants so that our customers can meet their regulatory requirements. This role is based in our Southampton site, which predominantly provides services to the waste industry. Sample types include domestic waste, recycled waste, ash from incinerators and more. We don't require prior laboratory experience, but are looking for individuals who are willing to learn how to: 1. Sort through waste samples to break them down into their constituent parts. 2. Prepare waste samples for further analysis utilising equipment, using shredders, mills, ovens and furnaces. 3. Perform some basic laboratory analysis following training including weighing and use of ovens/furnaces. 4. Ability to physically manage samples of varying size – from 10g up to 25kg. 5. Maintain records in line with our accreditation requirements. 6. Working to our Strict Health and Safety requirements, including ensuring that you keep your work area clean and tidy.
