Overview
KTP Associate: Machine Learning Engineer – Process Simulations is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) position based at ioMosaic International, Bath, in partnership with the University of Bath. The role combines artificial intelligence and chemical engineering to deliver a new tool for simulations and decision-making in process safety engineering.
Responsibilities
* Embed knowledge through the KTP project, working with ioMosaic and academic support from the University of Bath.
* Lead a high-profile, strategically meaningful project to a successful conclusion and apply academic achievements in an industrial setting.
* Develop and apply AI/ML techniques to improve safety and environmental outcomes in processing plants.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across ioMosaic, the Department of Chemical Engineering, and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bath.

About You
We are looking for early career chemical engineers (or related fields) with a passion for computational modelling and a drive to solve safety challenges. If you are curious, analytical and ready to contribute from day one, you will fit right in.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* A Master’s or PhD in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical), Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science or a related field.
* Experience or strong interest in programming, modelling, or simulation (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar).
* Familiarity with numerical or simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, ASPEN, COMSOL, OpenFOAM).
* Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning, and interest in developing these skills.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in central Bath. The role is a fixed-term period of 3 years. Details on holiday allowance and working hours are provided by the employer.
