Are you looking for a change in lifestyle whilst having a fulfilling career? Do you want to work in one of the most stunning areas of natural beauty in the UK and make a real difference to your local community providing a high standard of nursing care?
We are looking for experienced Band 3 Health Care Support Workers to join our established ward team. You should already be able to demonstrate the clinical skills required for this post.
Portree Hospital is a community hospital situated in the North of Skye. It has an inpatient ward and an Urgent Care Centre. The ward is led by GPs from Portree Medical Practice Monday – Friday, and out‑of‑hours it is supported by Broadford Hospital in South Skye. Nursing staff assist Advanced Practitioners as required and the ward provides rehabilitation, end‑of‑life/palliative care, and dementia care to patients from the local community.
We work closely with our sister hospital in Broadford, and there would be an opportunity to work across both sites. NHS Highland is committed to developing its staff, and this role could be the start of your journey into nursing. We are keen to "grow our own" nursing staff and participate in Student Nurse training programmes with the Open University.
This post supports our vision of a highly skilled, experienced, flexible workforce that has knowledge and skills in delivering modernised services. You will be part of a dedicated professional nursing team delivering a high standard of care on a mixed medical admissions ward. The work is dynamic and varied due to our rural community and its popularity as a holiday destination.
We have a variety of full‑time and part‑time posts available that include an internal rotation of day and night duties. If you are not looking for a permanent contract at this point, we would welcome applications for Band 3 HCSW to join our bank scheme.
