We have partnered with a specialist engineering consultancy delivering into a high-profile UK defence aviation programme and are seeking an SC Cleared Senior Systems Engineer to join an established team supporting complex, next-generation capability development.
This role sits within a highly secure, multi-disciplinary environment focused on advanced air systems. You will play a key part in applying systems thinking across the full engineering life cycle, supporting the delivery of technically challenging and nationally significant work.
You will be responsible for:
* Applying structured Systems Engineering methodologies to complex defence systems
* Supporting and managing elements of the systems engineering life cycle (V-model/Agile approaches)
* Requirements capture, decomposition, traceability and management
* Verification & Validation planning and execution
* Development and maintenance of system models (MBSE where applicable)
* Stakeholder engagement and technical workshop facilitation
* Working within controlled service environments, with exposure to ITIL-based service management principles

Essential Experience:
* Active SC Clearance
* Proven background in Systems Engineering within Defence or Aerospace
* Strong understanding of engineering life cycles (V-model, Agile, requirements management)
* Experience with one or more toolsets such as IBM DOORS/DOORS Next/Cameo/Rhapsody
* Experience supporting Requirements, Verification & Validation activities
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Experience working in secure/regulated environments
Desirable
* Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
* Experience supporting large-scale air or defence capability programmes
* Understanding of service management frameworks (eg ITIL) within engineering or technical service environments
* Consultancy or multi-stakeholder delivery experience
This role requires onsite presence 3-4 days per week in either Reading or Preston due to programme security requirements.
