Job Overview
Welcome to Fosse Children’s Services! We’re seeking passionate Senior Residential Support Workers to be instrumental leaders in achieving positive outcomes for our children and young people. With a strong focus on promoting welfare and safeguarding, you'll create a safe, nurturing environment where both staff and young people thrive. Your guidance will empower the team to provide children with the care, security, and support they need to flourish. Main responsibilities
1. Build strong, professional relationships with young people, providing day-to-day care
2. Encourage young people to develop a positive sense of self and identity
3. Promote educational and developmental opportunities
4. Support their health and well-being, fostering social inclusion and community engagement
5. Manage and encourage positive behaviours and address challenges as per guidelines
6. Apply trauma-informed practices with empathy and resilience
7. Collaborate with young people, families, colleagues, and agencies for the best outcomes
8. Support in maintaining family relationships through home visits, as per their Placement Plan
9. Help with placement plans for young people, families, and key contacts
10. Maintain high-quality records according to Fosse’s policies
11. Assist with domestic tasks and preparing nutritious meals with young people
12. Lead shifts in the absence of the Deputy or Registered Manager
Qualifications & Skills
13. NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children and Young People
14. Proficient numeracy, literacy and IT skills (GCSE or above in English and Maths)
15. At least 6 months’ experience working with children or adults
16. Working understanding of key legislations and regulations
17. High-level communication skills, using various communication aids
18. Committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of children
19. Good organisational, administrative, and delegation skills
20. Empathy and resilience towards others
21. Positive attitude towards diversity, independence, and inclusion
