Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Production Support Engineer to join our thriving UK medical manufacturing company to work within our expanding Engineering Department.
Role Responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers operating on a rotating shift pattern. Perform fault finding, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), installations and upgrades to circuitry, and provide mechanical support during breakdowns. Ensure all work is completed effectively with minimal machine downtime, within target expectations and in accordance with the latest health and safety regulations and best practices.
Essential Experience / Qualifications
* Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent level qualification
* Experience working in an automated production environment
* Machine setting experience
* Previous team‑leading experience
* Strong engineering background – electrical and mechanical
* Strong knowledge of health and safety practices
* Ability to build strong working relationships
* Understanding of working in a controlled environment
* Ability to manage downtime and priorities
* Continuous improvement mindset
* Ability to modify machine wiring
* Ability to read engineering drawings – electrical and mechanical
Desirable Experience / Qualifications
* Experience of injection molding
* Knowledge and understanding of quick changeover best practices
* 18th Edition
* PLC knowledge

Hours Of Work
* 4 on, 4 off shift pattern from 1st May (currently operating a 2 on, 2 off shift pattern)
* From 1st May: 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off (currently operating a 2 days on, 2 days off, 2 nights on, 2 nights off shift pattern)
* 7:00 am – 19:30 pm and 19:00 pm – 7:30 am
