Senior Project Manager - UK South Construction Division
Role
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our UK South Construction team, the first project would be our £150million Great Ormond Street Hospital project.
The Senior Project Manager will typically lead large and technically challenging project(s) to a value of circa £30-60m, or on a Major project will take responsibility for the delivery of a large section of works. Reporting into the Project/Regional Director will be responsible for planning, coordination and management of all aspects of the project/section in line with the PEP aligned to the Sisk overall business strategy. Has overall responsibility for Delivery, safety, environmental, quality & profit & loss. Maintains a close working relationship with the client, his/her representatives and other project stakeholders. Manages the relationship at a Senior level for all the supply chain involved in the project.
Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction
1. Prepare the programme, method statements, prelims and submission document
2. Prepare the Procurement strategy with the QS and Prequalification of key supply chain (early awards)
3. Prepare a preliminary Risk Register and mitigate/manage any risks for the duration of the project
4. Work with the SQS to prepare a prelim procurement schedule and track same
5. Ensure that the Health, Safety & Environmental plan and project resources reflect the project scope and programme, including temporary works
6. Agree Site Layout, logistics and organise implementation of same in accordance with company guidelines
7. Advise statutory authorities & key stakeholders of site start date
8. Agree employee resource plan with the Regional Director
9. Responsible for setting the design strategy, including BIM, DRM, and scope of novated services (If part of project scope)
Construction & Design
10. Manages (through others) consultant and subcontract design as required by the contract including delivery of the BIM strategy
11. Manage S/C including S/C progress meetings and S/C pre-order meetings
12. Manage employee resources, including cover for site when staff are on annual leave or training
13. Chair Internal Team Meetings/attend and chair Subcontractor meetings
14. Attend, update, and ensure accurate comprehensive minutes are issued from Client/Design Team Meetings
15. Prepare contract reports, manage Prelims in accordance with PEP and prepare applications for extension of time with SQS/QS
16. Monitor overall site progress against programme (PEP). Agree programmes with subcontractors and monitor progress with the SM
17. Manage and control the operating budget and weekly/monthly progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders
18. Take the principal responsibility for driving all aspects of the HSEQS plan and it’s implementation, including driving the full Quality Program
19. Present status to Sisk Management at Monthly CVR/CRM Meetings
20. Implement BIM Strategy on the project/oversee the management of design including Temporary Works as appropriate
Post Construction
21. Ensure aftercare service is in place for the client
22. Ensure any post-handover commissioning adjustments are made
23. Support the SQS in the preparation of any loss and expense applications and in the provision of information for Final Accounts
24. Complete the project data sheet and gather reference from the client
25. Protect Sisk’s contractual position by ensuring that the Client & Design teams are satisfied (I.e. build strong relationships for the future)
26. Obtain the defects list and remedy any items to obtain the Certificate of Making Good Defects. Timely engagement with client
Experience & Skills

29. Familiarity with key contract principles
30. Typically in excess of 10 years’ experience working in the relevant sector or a minimum of 4-5 projects delivered across different industry sectors
31. Good understanding of M&E aspects as well as civil/structural/architectural
32. Familiarity with the concepts of BIM
33. Understand the principles of BREEAM & LEED
34. Good understanding of Sisk Company Procedures
35. Ability to deliver and assist in negotiating a tendered opportunity
Qualifications & Training
36. Academic and/or Professional qualification in construction related subject. Ideally chartered
37. SMSTS, CDM/PSCS Awareness, BBS, Root Cause Analysis & S5 & Q10 internal workshops.
