We are WorkwithYork and are working with our Local Authority client to find a qualified and experienced Social Worker with experience of working with children and young adults with learning disabilities.
This is a temporary initially 3-month, full time assignment (37 hours) based within the York area so access to York is important – hybrid working is available.
We offer a competitive rate of weekly pay, with online timesheets, holiday pay and pension.
This role involves:
• Focusing on preparing for adulthood cases
• Work directly with young people aged 14-25 and their families
• Provide advice and support to colleagues, partners and stakeholders
• Completing visits to clients
• Working in a supportive specialist team
• Conducting assessments and reviews with a person centred practice
• Have a sound understanding of legislative frameworks underpinning adult and childrens social care.
You will:
• Have a Social Work Qualification: CQSW, Dip. SW, CSS or equivalent
• Be SWE registered
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with an enthusiastic can-do attitude and able to prioritise your workload in an organised way.
• Be an experienced social worker with experience of young people with SEND and disabilities
• Be eligible to work in the UK
• Possess a current valid DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake an online enhanced DBS check
