Technical Support Engineer

Help build and keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

What you'll do:

* Configure and replace datacentre equipment such as Cisco and Juniper firewalls, Cisco switches, Cisco and Dell server hosts while maintaining system operation.
* Provide both on-site and on-call support for TPCMS with the ability to travel throughout the UK.
* Proactively monitor the availability, performance, and security of TPCMS as part of a 24x7 team.
* Address TPCMS issues by resolving them or assigning to internal staff (engineers) or external providers (such as suppliers of equipment) for resolution.
* Engage proactively with all members of the System Management Team to support continuous improvement for TPCMS and the service provided to customers.
* Ensure all Service Level Agreement targets are exceeded.
* Support the transition of the TPCMS service to other parties by supporting the development and training needs of individuals.

Given the 12-hour shift rotation and the fast-paced nature of the team, adaptability and strong communication skills are essential. It’s perfect for someone eager to develop technical skills while contributing to team success.

Key Requirements:

* Vendor certifications such as VMware, MS Windows System Support, Cisco (LAN/WAN), Juniper, IP Trade are beneficial.
* Knowledge of McAfee SIEM Security - Security Information Events Management.
* Further education in IT / ICT.
