The Role

This is an exciting time to join a team that supports the delivery of an ambitious UK strategy for growth to £1billion by 2026. You will handle underwriting admin tasks, build relationships with new business underwriters, and ensure promises to brokers are kept. The role requires managing multiple priorities, understanding importance vs. urgency, and good time management. You will work within a team dedicated to high-quality service on complex risks, with opportunities for development. Hiscox UK aims for significant growth, and this role contributes to that success.

Key responsibilities

1. Support the new business underwriting team to provide professional, efficient, and effective service to regional brokers.
2. Support Distribution in achieving high service standards while meeting profitability and growth targets by understanding business classes and operational processes.
3. Build strong relationships with underwriters, develop knowledge of processes, and support process improvements.
4. Manage the automation inbox, directing quotes and correspondence appropriately.
5. Assist with administrative tasks related to binding new business, including managing reports, cover subjectivity, and broker correspondence.
6. Develop expertise in relevant systems and stay updated on changes, raising awareness within the team.
7. Deliver high-quality service, seek improvements, and proactively enhance efficiency and delivery.

Must haves

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident in relationship building and clarifying requirements.
2. Strong attention to detail.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
4. Enthusiastic, hardworking, and driven to provide excellent service.
5. Ability to prioritize and organize workload effectively.
6. Quick learner, proactive, and able to explore solutions independently.
7. Flexible, with a desire to learn and take on additional responsibilities.

Nice to have

1. Insurance industry experience.
2. Experience in driving or contributing to efficiency improvements.
