Responsibilities
* Assembly and Maintenance: Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and perform preventative maintenance on drilling tools and associated equipment according to technical specifications and procedures.
* Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electronic circuitry, components, and systems using various test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
* Testing and Calibration: Conduct functional tests, performance evaluations, and calibrations on equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards and manufacturer specifications.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed service records, calibration logs, and repair documentation. Generate reports on work performed and equipment status.
* Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and engineering instructions to facilitate assembly and repair processes.
* Collaboration: Coordinate efforts with other technicians, engineers, and field representatives to resolve complex issues, support failure analysis initiatives, and ensure seamless equipment deployment.
* Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining an organized work environment and managing inventory of electronic components, parts, and supplies.
* Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and quality procedures to ensure safe work practices.
Qualifications
* A technical school certificate in electronics, electrical technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
* 5+ years of experience working with electronics, preferably in an industrial or oilfield environment (Ideally with drilling tools such as RSS, LWD, MWD etc).
Required Skills
* Proficiency in using electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes) and hand tools.
* Soldering skills (wire harness, surface mount and through-hole).
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
* Basic computer literacy and familiarity with diagnostic software for data entry and analysis.
* Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and reporting.
