An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Nursing Support Worker on Dewi Ward in Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.
Main duties of the job
The post holder should hold an NVQ level 3 in Health or equivalent and demonstrate good communication skills, excellent teamwork and the ability to work independently. They will support nurses and the therapies team, promoting patients’ independence through mobility, nutrition and hydration to maintain and maximise functional ability.
The post will include working 7 days a week, with night and day duty.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject or equivalent experience with evidence of competency, theoretical knowledge and the ability to undertake relevant clinical care duties.
* Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
* Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, for example the principles of safeguarding adults and children and confidentiality, including General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Experience
* Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.
* Experience of working with patient groups relevant to the area of practice.
* Experience of working within the NHS.
Skills and Attributes
* Welsh Language Skills (Level 1).
