A well-established and respected civil engineering contractor operating across the North West, specialising in groundworks and infrastructure for major residential developers. With a strong pipeline of projects and a growing Estimating Department, they are seeking an experienced Estimator to join theirmercial team.
Your new role:
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparingpetitive tenders for groundwork packages up to £20m in value. You will work closely with the Managing Estimator and Contracts Managers to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Reviewing tender documentation and raising RFIs.
2. Conducting site visits and risk assessments.
3. Interpreting ground conditions from Site Investigation reports.
4. Performing detailed take-offs and measurements using 2D/3D software and spreadsheets.
5. S104 adoptable sewers & drainage
6. S38 adoptable carriageways
7. S278 highway works
8. Earthworks modelling
9. Substructures and floor slabs
10. External works and private drainage
11. Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations.
12. Building rates from first principles and preparing Bills of Quantities.
13. Producing tender adjudication and submission documents.
What you'll need to succeed :
14. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar estimating role within groundworks or civil engineering.
15. Strong understanding of roads, sewers, foundations, and substructure works.
16. Proficient in take-off and measurement techniques.
17. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
18. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with estimating software (, Causeway, ConQuest).
19. Excellentmunication and organisational skills.
20. Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively within a small team.
