Creative Arts Assistant – September 2025 Start Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 Location Cwmbran
Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a Creative Arts Assistant to work across a cluster of supportive schools in the Cwmbran area, starting September 2025. This rewarding role involves supporting young people with a range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), autism, and other additional learning needs (ALN).
As a Creative Arts Assistant, you will work within both primary and specialist ALN settings, using creative approaches to engage pupils, encourage self-expression, and promote emotional wellbeing. This position is ideal for someone passionate about using the arts to support holistic learning and development in an inclusive educational environment.
The successful candidate will need to be adaptable, calm under pressure, and confident in supporting learners across varied classroom settings. Creativity, patience, and excellent communication skills are essential to building strong relationships with both pupils and staff.
Requirements
The desired Creative Arts Assistant will have:
Experience working with primary and/or secondary school pupils
A background supporting children with ALN, including SEMH and autism
A passion for helping children develop both academically and emotionally
An approachable and resilient personality with the ability to build rapport quickly
An ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable (not essential):
Experience in creative subjects such as art, drama, or music therapy
Experience working in ALN bases or alternative provision settings
