You won't be stuck in the same job title for years with no recognition of how much you've grown.
If you're progressing fast and taking on more, your salary and job title will reflect that. You won’t be held back for the sake of it. Progression will always be the plan.
You'll get proper support to become chartered. There are loads of Senior Chartered professionals in house who will help you get there in a targeted and properly managed way.
And there are plenty of other advantages too:
* Ultimate flexibility: You won’t be ‘clock watched’. You won’t find any problem if you want to nip off early for to go to the match, or meet a friend, or do something else to look after yourself. You don’t need to make up the hours or mess around with your flexitime either.
* Great perks: Up to 31 days holiday from day one plus bank holidays. Significant annual bonus £2k - £3k likely. Very good Maternity and even paternity which is rare.
* Local work: You’ll get out and about of course, but you’ll never be sent off to a small survey Aberdeen or Portsmouth. It’ll be mostly very local.
* Strong support: The bosses look inwardly when a mistake happens or a problem occurs. They don’t play the blame game. They’d rather drop a problem client than make you uncomfortable at work dealing with them, and they have done that recently.
What you'll do
You'll help clients in various sectors to manage their existing assets, through a variety of activities that include assessing existing buildings, advising on condition, possible cost of works, contract administration, and environmental and sustainability management.
You'll get the opportunity to focus on what you prefer. Especially when you're established and experienced, but even from an early point in your career.
So you could do all or pick and choose out of the following types of day to day activities:
* Condition Surveys
* CAD Drawings
* Dilapidations
* Technical Due Dilligence
* Helping out on Tendering
What you'll need
* 1 or 2 years experience in a Graduate, Junior or Assistant Building Surveyor position
* A desire to work towards chartership and further qualification with plenty of support
* A driving license
