Level 3 BSL Teaching Assistant – Newcastle Secondary Schools

At Protocol Education, we work closely with secondary schools across Newcastle who are looking for skilled BSL Teaching Assistants to support deaf and hearing-impaired students in the classroom.
The role at a glance:
* Start date: ASAP
* Location: Newcastle secondary schools
* Contract: Full-time
* Pay: £100 – £120 per day (paid weekly via PAYE)
What you’ll be doing:
* Providing one-to-one and small group support using BSL
* Helping students access lessons, boost confidence, and achieve their potential
* Working alongside teachers and SENCOs to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment
* Supporting with both academic progress and social interaction
What we’re looking for:
* BSL Level 3 qualification (or above) – essential
* Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or SEND setting
* Patience, positivity, and the ability to build strong relationships
* A proactive attitude – ready to support both students and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
