Offer description

Job overview An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Rheumatology Occupational Therapy team at the Royal United Hospitals Bath as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist. This is a rare chance to take on a 9-month fixed-term role covering maternity leave, where you’ll play a key part in delivering specialist care and making a real difference to patients’ lives. You will be joining a team of Rheumatology Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Support Workers who enjoy working together to support and treat patients who have a variety of Rheumatic diseases. We work in a dedicated Therapies Centre, situated near Rheumatology team colleagues and provide treatment for patients living in the four local Integrated Care Systems (ICS) and those referred to us nationally. This role offers a varied mix of patient-facing and administrative tasks. Therapy sessions are provided in person, by telephone, virtually and in group settings. As part of our service, we are proud to provide the award-winning residential Bath Axial Spondyloarthritis Rehabilitation Programme. We also provide one of the few dedicated Fibromyalgia Self-Management group programmes in the region. You'll be joining a team who currently work over 5 days, usually Monday to Friday, however the role may require Bank Holiday working. Ongoing learning and personal development is important to everyone in the team. You will be supported to explore, develop and learn new skills as part of this role. We provide ongoing training opportunities both in-house and externally to help you do this. You will attend the full Trust induction and have a local induction to support you when starting in this role. Advert To work as an occupational therapist, as part of the wider Rheumatology Therapies team based at the Royal United Hospitals Bath. This service is part of the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases. Clinical responsibilities include holding a mixed Rheumatology outpatient caseload, inclusive of inflammatory and non-inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disorders and fibromyalgia. As clinical skills are developed and embedded, the role may be extended to include supporting an Axial Spondyloarthropathies residential group programme and delivering group based outpatient programmes. Working for our organisation At the RUH we put people at the heart of what we do, working together as one team to make a difference for our patients, each other, and our community. No matter what your role is, we value everyone’s contribution in supporting the exceptional, person-centred care we pride ourselves on. We are committed to supporting you and hope you want to join our team.
