About the Role
As our Site & Maintenance Assistant, you’ll support the Site Manager in maintaining our buildings, grounds and facilities to ensure a clean, safe and engaging environment. Responsibilities include:
• Basic maintenance, repairs and general handyman tasks
• Supporting routine safety checks and planned maintenance
• Maintaining outdoor areas, including repairs, litter control and seasonal work
• Ensuring the site remains hazard‑free and secure
• Occasional support with animal care tasks
You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team committed to providing the best environment for young people.
Hours and Salary
1. Hours: 40 per week (Mon–Thu 8:00–16:30, Fri 8:00–15:40)
• Contract: Fixed term, 52 weeks
• Salary: £26,436.80 FTE
About You
We’re seeking someone who is:
• Practical, adaptable and proactive
• Calm under pressure and able to manage unexpected tasks
• Comfortable working independently and in a small team
• Reliable, punctual and committed to high standards
• Willing to learn and follow procedures and safety requirements
Desirable (Training Provided)
2. Basic maintenance/DIY experience
• Knowledge of COSHH, Health & Safety or fire safety
• Experience with cleaning/maintenance equipment
• Ability to maintain clear records
• Confidence with manual handling
• Good communication and organisational skills
