Overview
This post has arisen for a Consultant Radiologist within Clinical Radiology at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to support general radiology with special emphasis on MSK imaging. This is a permanent post. The successful candidate will be based at Chorley and Preston Hospital sites, with some sub-specialty sessions at the new Community Diagnostic Centre.
The applicant should hold or be eligible for CCT within 6 months of interview. The successful candidate will be expected to provide cross sectional imaging reporting and support for various MDTs. The post will involve 10 programmed activities of imaging support (8 DPAs plus 1.5 SPAs and 0.5 for on-call).
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate leadership through positive role modelling and team working.
* Provide a Radiology service as a member of the Directorate. This may be across all sites depending on Directorate service requirements.
* Assume a continuous commitment for the care of patients, including arranging leave and off duty periods in consultation with colleagues, even if employed less than full-time.
* Promote high professional standards of clinical care for patients, through direct patient care and by maintaining continuing professional development.
* Work independently and under Consultant supervision as appropriate and supervise others.
* Take an active role in the management and organisation of the directorate, including contributing to teaching, research, and audit.
There are substantial opportunities for development or maintenance of other subspecialist interests. The Radiology Directorate comprises Radiology, Neuroradiology, Ultrasound, Vascular (general) Interventional Radiology, Chest Radiology, Nuclear Medicine (including SPECT), Oncological Radiology and Mammography services.
