Senior UX/UI Designer (FTC, Jan 2026)
Jones Knowles Ritchie is a branding business, founded in 1990 and proudly independent ever since. Initially in packaging, we now operate worldwide with over 350 people across the UK, USA and China. We build and deliver brands across the entire consumer experience.
We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to join our busy team for a 12‑month contract starting in January 2026.
Why this role?
This hands‑on senior design role owns and guides projects from discovery to delivery. You'll craft experiences that are strategically smart, beautifully distinctive, and right for both the user and the brand. You'll also shape our digital team, mentor others, and inspire clients along the way.
What You'll Do
* Lead UX & UI design across digital products, balancing user needs with brand storytelling
* Shape end‑to‑end experiences: research, audits, personas, journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI design
* Design distinctive UI systems that translate brand identities into digital interfaces, bringing them to life with interaction, motion, and detail
* Collaborate cross‑functionally with strategists, creatives, developers, and clients to deliver seamless, innovative outcomes
* Inspire and mentor designers, sharing knowledge and elevating the team's digital craft
* Represent design with authority in meetings and presentations, acting as both a leader and a brand guardian
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience as a Senior UX/UI Designer with a strong portfolio spanning multiple platforms
* Expertise across the UX toolkit: research, audits, personas, journeys, wireframes, flows, storyboards, prototyping
* A sharp eye for UI craft: distinctive digital design, interaction, design systems, templating, and atomic design
* Comfort with Figma, FigJam, Miro and other collaboration tools
* Front‑end awareness – able to speak the language of developers and ensure design intent carries through
* Experience with motion and animation tools (After Effects, Jitter) to enhance user experiences
* A track record of mentoring, presenting, and influencing clients and colleagues with confidence and clarity
