Clean Water Network Modellers/Engineers – All levels.
Locations: Cardiff, Belfast, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Epsom, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Peterborough, Warrington.
AtkinsRéalis is a leading name in Water Networks and shaping the future of water network management in the UK and internationally. We are expanding our Water team across UK offices and seek engineers, modellers, GIS specialists, and technicians to deliver diverse projects for clients including Water Companies, Local Authorities, and developers, with potential international involvement.
The team operates within Asset Planning & Solutions, focusing on water and wastewater projects such as designing water supply networks, trunk mains, and drainage schemes to mitigate flooding and pollution. Projects involve feasibility studies and computer modelling to support operational and environmental decisions. Knowledge of water network modelling software like Synergee, InfoWorks, GIS tools (ArcGIS, MapInfo), and civil engineering background are advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided. Roles include conducting feasibility studies, liaising with stakeholders, and producing concise reports.
Senior roles require experience in model usage, hydraulic analysis, solution development, and leadership to match the position.
Requirements:
* Management and supervision of a team of water modellers.
* Implementation and development of industry-leading and innovative solutions.
* Experience with water modelling and distribution networks.
* Building and calibrating network models.
* Using models for planning, operational, and design purposes.
* Managing Detailed Zonal Studies, Pressure Management, and DMA Design.
* Supervising report writing and review of outputs.
* Proficiency with SYNERGI, INFOWORKS WS, EPANET, Infowater, and similar software.
Qualifications:
* BSc/BEng/MEng in geography, GIS, science, engineering, or equivalent, with professional qualifications for senior roles.
* Technicians require HNC/HND qualifications; opportunities for further qualification are available.
Responsibilities:
* Developing computer models to investigate water network issues and solutions.
* Data analysis and supporting engineering solutions.
* Advising clients on asset investments.
* Preparing reports and project deliverables.
* Adhering to health and safety protocols.
