Qualified Social Worker – Children with Disabilities
Location: Greater Manchester
Pay: £40 per hour

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with disabilities? We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Qualified Social Worker to join a dedicated Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team in Greater Manchester.
You’ll work in a fast-paced yet supportive environment with flexible working – you manage your diary as long as visits and statutory responsibilities are completed.
Your Role:
As a key member of the Children with Disabilities team, you’ll work with children and families where there are Children in Need, Child Protection, and Court Proceedings. You'll partner with a range of professionals – including health, education, and the police – to ensure the best outcomes and sustainable positive change.
You’ll help children receive the right support at the right time, ensuring that when social care is no longer required, families are supported by local community and early help services.
What We’re Looking For:
You’re not just a qualified social worker – you’re someone who’s committed to putting children and families first, with the experience and knowledge to back it up.
You’ll need to have:
1. Social Work England registration
2. 4+ years post-qualified experience
3. Knowledge of legislation relating to children’s social care
4. A solid background working with vulnerable children and families
5. Confidence in handling a varied caseload – CIN, CP, Court, and disability cases
6. Excellent assessment, planning, mediation, and communication skills
7. Experience working across multi-agency teams
8. A passion for delivering person-centred, strength-based interventions

9. Carry out assessments of need, risk, and protection
10. Manage your own caseload effectively and independently
11. Develop individual care plans that reflect diversity, dignity, and empowerment
12. Use advanced communication and interpersonal skills to influence outcomes
13. Support students and unqualified staff as part of your professional practice
14. Champion best practice and drive positive change
