We have a great opportunity to join Aster Group as our Assistant Director of Contracted Delivery. You’ll be learning a team that delivers contracted repairs and maintenance services to improve and care for our customer’s homes.

The role will see you define, design and build a contractor base that allows fulfilment of all of our property services workstream functions.

You’ll carry out quality audits on contractor performance and provide data to use for contractor meetings for all of the property service functions. You’ll also be supporting colleagues in pre-tender scoping and ongoing contractor management by providing contractor performance data.

You will be the chair of our monthly contractor meetings to ensure contractors are adhering to all contracted KPI’s, keeping within budgets and demonstrating value for money.

The role will see you –


* Having accountability for driving innovation in contractor management, including digital tools, predictive analytics, and modern procurement models
* Leading on the shaping of the long-term strategy for contracted delivery, aligned with Aster’s corporate objectives and sector trends.
* Preparing and presenting reports to Committees or Boards, especially on contractor performance, risk, and compliance.
* Leading by example and coaching and mentoring direct reports to enhance performance and cater for succession planning.
* Managing a complete P&L budget for your business areas, taking corrective action to ensure end of year targets are met.
* Ensuring customers service are at the heart of decision making proving excellent customers service with a priority of keeping them safe, making their journey ‘effortless’’.


About you

You’ll come to the role being able to demonstrate relevant experience, holding a degree or equivalent/and or being professionally qualified in a building related discipline. You will hold a CIH 5 Level or be working towards it.

Your career will evidence significant experience of managing a large social housing contracted network for repairs/maintenance/estate services and/or working in a regulated compliance sector at Head of/Director level.

Your experience will include creating and inputting into pre-tender works, plus a strong commercial/financial track record.

You will have a demonstrable track record of leading strategic business development/ leading a business or large team through several cycles of business planning/execution.

A key strength will be your experience of leadership, motivation and coaching. Being able to inspire and engage teams to ensure that there is a high performance of delivery across all areas of responsibility.

You will have a proven ability to effectively manage large and varied budgets, analyse trends and forecast effectively, ensuring value for money and demonstrating strong commercial acumen.

This is a hybrid role, enabling you to base yourself from home. There will be a requirement to travel to attend meetings from time to time, so you must be able to travel within our operating region.

Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
