CIS Security Ltd is recruiting for a Assistant Travel Risk Manager on behalf of a prestigious client, who will support the UK Travel Risk Manager in managing and enhancing the UK Travel Risk Management Programme. The role focuses on managing approval processes, conducting research, performing risk assessments, and supporting incident management to ensure the safety and security of UK business travellers abroad. This position requires strong analytical skills, proactive communication, and the ability to support multiple functions efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities within a complex, global environment.
Information:
Job Title: Assistant Travel Risk Manager
Location: Preference London, potentially Birmingham - Hybrid an option after 3 months employment
Salary: £36,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week - Days - Monday to Friday
Key Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of global security risks affecting business travel and international organisations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of staff and stakeholders.
Interests across travel, geography, geopolitics, global incidents and current affairs
Competence in learning new technologies and tools, such as travel risk management platforms, automation and data analytics tools.
Proficient in using IT applications including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to new tasks as part of an evolving role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in travel risk management, security, or corporate risk functions preferred.
Familiarity with global travel tracking, risk assessment tools, and crisis management systems as well as knowledge of international security, political risk, or business continuity is an advantage.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across functions.
Resilient, proactive, and calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in conducting travel security risk assessments and support the identification and mitigation of potential risks.
Manage and oversee the travel approval processes, ensuring alignment with policy, processes, and requirements.
Conduct in-depth research on global security trends, travel advisories, and geopolitical developments to support the UK Travel Risk Management Programme.
Develop and maintain clear documentation regarding travel risk assessments, approvals, and recommendations.
Support the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures, management plans, and security reports.
Provide assistance in responding to travel risk-related queries and requests from internal and external stakeholders.
Help ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with various internal teams including the Insurance, Travel Team, and International Business Travel team, as well as external auditors.
Participate in incident support, acting as a coordinator when required for travel security incidents.
Assist in maintaining, updating, and archiving travel records for auditing and investigation purposes.
Proactively identify areas for improving travel risk processes and contribute to development projects as necessary.
Cover the UK Travel Risk Manager during periods of leave including participating in 24/7/365 on-call systems to respond to emergencies when needed.
