Join our team as Manbassadors GM Community Development Officer
Were looking for a committed and enthusiastic Community Development Officer to lead the delivery of the Manbassadors GM project, an innovative initiative supporting mens mental health across Greater Manchester.
This inspiring initiative, funded by the National Lottery, builds on the success of the Bolton Manbassadors project and aims to improve mens mental health and wellbeing by creating stronger, more connected communities across Bolton, Salford, Stockport, and Wigan. We are currently in year two of the three-year, Lottery-funded project.
This role offers the opportunity to coordinate community‑led projects, build strong partnerships, and empower residents to co‑design inclusive and sustainable initiatives. Key Responsibilities
* Build relationships with GM partners, service providers and stakeholders to deliver support and training projects.
* Develop and manage community initiatives that promote inclusion and social value.
* Coordinate the development of Manbassadors GM priorities in partnership with residents.
* Prepare and submit applications for external funding.
* Support men through tailored project interventions and facilitate access to advice and information.
* Supervise volunteers and temporary work placements.
* Maintain accurate records for monitoring and evaluation.
* Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and ensure Health & Safety and Safeguarding concerns are addressed.
What Youll Need To Succeed
* At least 2 years experience in community development or engagement.
* Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate projects that support active communities.
* Understanding of mens mental health challenges and barriers to participation.
* Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Experience securing external funding through strategic planning and written communication.
* Project management skills and the ability to support and motivate others.
* Level 4 qualification in a related subject.
* Full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
