Role Overview
An activity coordinator in our care home is like the chief fun officer. They create a vibrant, joy-filled atmosphere for our residents by planning exciting events and hobbies such as arts and crafts, baking, book clubs, and pub quizzes. They work closely with residents and care teams to create tailored activity plans, including gentle exercises and garden parties, fostering laughter, camaraderie, and shared experiences. Activities are designed to be fun and therapeutic, promoting residents' well-being.
Key Responsibilities
* Run morning and afternoon activity sessions.
* Produce and update an activity planner within the set budget.
* Organize birthday surprises for residents.
* Liaise with external companies and performers to organize outings and events.
* Arrange one-on-one sessions with residents, including reminiscing, puzzles, reading, or casual chats.
* Support the home's social media channels as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
We seek a creative thinker with good organizational skills, budget management, and the ability to prioritize effectively. A caring nature, a sense of humor, and enthusiasm for enhancing residents' lives are essential.
