Job Description Nursery Chef £26,700 per annum 40 hours per week, no weekends Housed in a charming building with bright, spacious rooms, a wonderful garden, and regular forest school sessions, our client's Good Ofsted-rated nursery is a warm, welcoming setting where children thrive and the team genuinely cares. Mealtimes here are taken seriously and they are now looking for an experienced and passionate Nursery Chef to take full ownership of the kitchen and ensure every child receives fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals every single day. What Our Client Is Looking For Previous experience as a chef within a nursery or similar early years setting -essential Strong knowledge of allergen management, dietary requirements, and nutrition for young children Food hygiene qualification - Level 2 minimum, Level 3 preferred Organised, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership of the kitchen independently A warm, positive approach that fits naturally into a nursery environment Genuine care for the health and wellbeing of the children you cook for What's on Offer £26,700 per annum Heavily discounted childcare Annual leave increasing with service Additional day off for your birthday Staff incentives Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Training & development opportunities Team events Ofsted Good rated, charming setting with forest school & wonderful garden Key Responsibilities Preparing and serving fresh, balanced, and age-appropriate meals in line with the nursery's nutritional guidance for under-fives Ensuring all meals are prepared in full accordance with each child's documented allergy and dietary requirements Implementing rigorous processes to prevent cross-contamination, including clearly labelled, separate utensils and preparation areas Maintaining a safe, clean, and hygienic kitchen at all times, meeting all food hygiene and Health & Safety standards Managing stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships to keep the kitchen running smoothly Maintaining accurate records relating to food preparation, cleaning schedules, and equipment maintenance Working collaboratively with the nursery team, contributing to the warm and caring ethos of the setting How to Apply If you have nursery chef experience and a strong understanding of allergen management and children's nutrition, we'd love to hear from you.
