Reed Recruitment is partnered with a multinational sustainable manufacturing company, based in Bridgend who are going through a sustained period of growth and are looking to add a Mechanical biased Multi skilled Engineer to their shiftsteam.
Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll work as a multi-skilled (Mechanical Bias) technician, tackling mechanical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and basic electrical tasks. You’ll support root cause analysis, drive continuous improvement, and help boost performance.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Restore, overhaul, and maintain equipment to departmental targets.
* Perform equipment/unit changes on machines.
* Operate and maintain Steam systems (training provided).
* Work with Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
* Conduct welding & burning tasks.
* Operate machine shop equipment, e.g., lathes, milling machines.
* Carry out fault diagnosis.
* Utilise the CMMS (EAM) system to improve reliability.
* Assist in preventing reoccurrence of equipment failures through root cause analysis and initiating solutions to ensure asset performance improvements.
* Continuously develop technical skills through training and hands‑on experience.
Required Skills:
* Time served Mechanical Engineer/ Technician.
* Experience across Heavy/ Medium industries.
* Proactive attitude and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
