What You Will Be Doing
As a Regional IT Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality IT services to offices, sites, and users across the region. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role requiring a genuine passion for IT, strong customer focus, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
You will support both day‑to‑day operational activities and project‑based initiatives, working closely with internal teams, third‑party suppliers, and end users. Regular travel across the North East and Yorkshire is required, and a full UK driving licence is essential.
* Act as a point of contact for escalated IT issues, providing hands‑on technical support and coordination where required
* Support users both on‑site and remotely, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
* Own and manage incidents through to successful resolution, maintaining a strong customer‑service mindset
* Plan, coordinate, and deliver IT setup for new sites, from requirements gathering through to installation and handover
* Manage the delivery of party supplies and associated installations in line with business needs
* Ensure IT rooms, comms rooms, and office setups comply with health & safety policies and IT standards
* Support IT projects and service improvements, including rollout of new technologies and upgrades
* Contribute to the development and delivery of regional and national IT initiatives
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure solutions are fit for purpose
* Act as a visible and approachable IT representative within the business
* Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and site teams
* Proactively schedule and attend site visits to improve service delivery and the perception of IT
About You
* Passion for IT and a proactive approach to learning new technologies
* Ability to work independently in a field‑based role
* Excellent customer service ethos
* Full UK driving licence
* Willingness to travel regularly across North East England and Yorkshire
* Ability to work on‑site at offices and construction sites as required
Desirable
* Experience working in construction, engineering, utilities, or a similar operational environment
* Familiarity with IT service management tools (e.g. ServiceNow or similar)
* Experience supporting site IT setups, including comms rooms and site cabins
* Exposure to IT project work such as office moves, new site setups, or technology rollouts
* IT-related qualification (e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft, or equivalent)
* ITIL Foundation
* Health & Safety awareness or site safety training (e.g. CSCS or equivalent – beneficial but not essential)
* Networking or infrastructure knowledge
* Experience providing remote support alongside face‑to‑face support
* Confidence contributing ideas to improve IT services and user experience
