About the Company
Our client is a leading Tier One contractor delivering large-scale infrastructure and energy projects across Ireland and the UK. With a strong pipeline in renewable energy, utilities, and major civil engineering works, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.
The Role
As a Senior QS, you will play a key role in the commercial management of high-value energy and civil engineering projects. You will oversee cost control, contract administration, and risk management, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
This role requires strong experience working under NEC contracts, particularly within complex infrastructure or energy environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all commercial aspects of projects from tender through to final account
* Administer and manage contracts under NEC (NEC3/NEC4) frameworks
* Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
* Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
* Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and account management
* Manage variations, compensation events, and change control processes
* Liaise with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure commercial success
* Mentor and support junior QS staff
Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
* 8+ years’ experience, ideally within civil engineering or energy/infrastructure projects
* Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (essential)
* Proven track record with a Tier One or large main contractor
* Experience managing large-scale projects (utilities, renewables, or heavy civils preferred)
* Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
