Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)
Location: Ossett
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you dedicated to assisting children facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? Do you have the patience, empathy, and resilience to help pupils thrive in a nurturing school environment?
GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Ossett. As a SEMH TA, you will provide vital 1:1 and small group support, assist with behaviour management, and help create a calm and positive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver personalised support to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to meet pupil needs.
* Monitor and record progress and wellbeing.
* Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Experience supporting children with SEMH or related needs.
* A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* An up-to-date CV with any gaps explained.
* An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
