Senior Finance Managers have responsibility for DG hubs within Financial Management and Reporting, leading teams to deliver professional advice on financial issues and through budget monitoring and monthly financial reports which enable senior officials to make informed decisions based on timely and high-quality financial information. Communication and effective stakeholder relationships are an essential aspect of the role, with Finance Teams the link between business areas and the wider Corporate Reporting Division. Responsibilities Responsibilities Lead the budget monitoring output of the finance teams, reinforcing the level of standard required, identifying improvements and supporting training needs. Lead the continuous improvement of financial reports, ensuring they are of a high quality that uses compelling and persuasive language to influence and challenge areas and to assist budget-holders to make informed decisions. Engage with colleagues across the Financial Management Directorate, in business areas, and bodies to work effectively together to deliver corporate financial exercises and provide professional advice on a range of finance topics. Support Finance Managers and Finance Teams, leading by example to develop and coach them to ensure effective and efficient working with delegation as appropriate, with the aim of developing an effective and high performing team. Oversee Finance Teams’ contributions to the annual accounts and Provisional and Final Outturn, undertaking quality assurance of input in accordance with the corporate timetable. Lead teams through changes arising from the implementation of Oracle Cloud, ensuring that sound budget monitoring principles and enhanced financial reporting are taken forward. Support Corporate Running Costs including advising which costs should form part of this classification. Report on the overview of the Total Operating Costs position for SG core, an area of increasing scrutiny and importance, and support projects in this space Support the development and implementation of the new EPM Workforce Planning system, working with colleagues in Finance, HR and suppliers to ensure that the new system provides the level of detail required to report on staff costs. Qualifications Qualifications You must be fully CCAB qualified with up to date CPD and relevant post qualified experience in accountancy environment.
