About the Role:
Main Duties:
1. To be responsible for managing a caseload of single homes people or families where the Housing Advice and Outreach Service is unable to resolve a housing need and the household is homeless or threatened with homelessness within 56 days.
2. To support customers who may be threatened with homelessness at the earliest stage to prevent homelessness either by assisting them to sustain their existing accommodation or to facilitate a planned move into alternative suitable accommodation.
3. To support customers who are homeless to identify alternative accommodation including in shared accommodation and present cases to the Temporary Accommodation panel, where all options to have been exhausted and emergency accommodation is required.
4. To liaise with the Integrated Front Door and the Housing Advice and Outreach Service to take referrals for customers who meet the criteria for assessment under the Homelessness Reduction Act, ensuring a warm handover.
Experience:
The purpose of the role is to provide a highly effective and efficient front-line housing options service, with a primary focus on preventing and relieving homelessness. To undertake assessments and investigations of homelessness approaches and applications in line with the Council's statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996 Part 7 and relevant case law
To manage the assessment of customers housing needs in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. To manage a varied case load across one of the following: Single Homeless Pathway Families Pathway
