About The Business Unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues—such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation—to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.
Overview Of The Role
As a Senior Bridge Engineer, your career has provided you with technical skills and structural knowledge which enable you to translate your understanding of structural behaviours and analytical techniques into effective structural analyses and designs. You have experience in the analysis and design of complex bridges and related structures, are familiar with industry codes (including Eurocodes) and standards, and you enjoy pushing boundaries where appropriate. With strong interpersonal skills, you can guide teams in analysis of structures and communicate effectively in client and colleague meetings.
Candidate specification
Essential
* Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng, MSc or equivalent)
* Chartered Engineer (ICE / IStructE)
* Ability to deliver high quality design documentation including option appraisals, drawings, calculations, reports, specifications and construction documentation
* Demonstrable experience in bridge analysis, design and assessment including ability to undertake and oversee analysis using standard industry software (e.g., LUSAS or MIDAS)
* Commercial and financial awareness, and ability to plan and monitor project programmes, budgets and resources to ensure delivery on time and within cost constraints
* Experience in and a commitment to effective management of Health, Safety and Welfare, Safety by Design
Desirable
* Preparation and review of technical approval documentation for highway and rail structures
* Experience of managing project teams and providing technical leadership
* Experience in preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions
* Experience of digital delivery tools and workflows, e.g., BIM, parametric design and automation
