About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experiencedSenior Project Officerto support the delivery of theConnect to Work Programme—a voluntary, locally-ledSupported Employment initiativelaunched under the UK Government’sGet Britain Workingstrategy. The programme is designed to help people with disabilities, long-term health conditions, or complex barriers to employment toenter and sustain meaningful work.
Croydon Council is theAccountable Body, managing the delivery across the five boroughs within theSouth London Partnership.
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with the Programme Manager, external contractors, and borough partners to ensure the programme meets its objectives and delivers high-quality services. You will also play a vital role inperformance monitoring,stakeholder engagement, andservice integration.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Programme Manager in coordinating and delivering the Connect to Work Programme.
* Manage discrete projects and provide project support across the SLP boroughs.
* Monitor project progress, analyse performance data, and drive continuous improvement.
* Lead stakeholder engagement and service integration to improve referral pathways.
* Represent the programme at strategic meetings and external events.
* Support contract management and assurance visits with delivery partners.
* Develop and present performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Proven experience in project and programme delivery within a local authority or public sector setting.
* Strong understanding of employability programmes and externally funded interventions.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Analytical skills to interpret complex data and produce high-quality reports.
* Experience in performance monitoring, contract compliance, and team leadership.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant IT tools.
