Interim Housing Disrepairs Solicitor Location: Birmingham (Hybrid working available) Contract: 6-month interim assignment Pay Rate: £55 per hour (via umbrella company) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Housing Disrepairs Solicitor to join our legal team on an interim basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a busy local authority in managing housing disrepair claims and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations. Key Responsibilities: Advise on and manage housing disrepair cases, including pre-action protocols and litigation. Draft and review legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence. Represent the authority in negotiations and, where necessary, at court hearings. Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders on housing law and related matters. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council policies. Requirements: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a current practising certificate. Proven experience in housing disrepair litigation and homeowner/tenant law. Strong advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills. Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload under pressure. Previous experience within a local authority or public sector environment is desirable.
