The Role
We are seeking a highly driven and resilient Senior Project Supplier Manager to take ownership of critical fabrication and machining work packages within a demanding project environment.
This is a hands‑on delivery role, requiring strong project management discipline, confident supplier engagement, and the tenacity to drive results against an extremely challenging programme. You will act as the focal point between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, ensuring commitments are met, risks are actively managed, and performance is relentlessly driven to plan.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain robust project plans, including expediting strategies and recovery plans where required
Actively expedite supplier activities, challenging assumptions and driving actions to protect on‑time delivery
Manage supplier performance, including escalation and resolution of blockers
Communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels
Proactively identify risks and opportunities, taking decisive action to resolve issues
Maintain accurate and timely reporting on progress, delays, risks, and mitigation actions
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong project management capability with proven experience delivering against tight timescales
Demonstrable experience in expediting, planning, and schedule recovery
Solid understanding of fabrication and machining processes (e.g. machining, welding, assemblies, tolerances)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and command respect
A tenacious, resilient mindset with the confidence to push for results
Ability to operate calmly and decisively under pressure
Personal Attributes
Commanding presence with confidence to lead difficult conversations
Highly organised, disciplined, and delivery‑focused with a strong emphasis on quality
Pragmatic problem solver with strong commercial awareness
Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating effectively with wider teams

Background in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial supply chains
Knowledge of quality, inspection, or production control environments
Contract Details
Initial term: 6 months
Location: Newcastle (onsite / hybrid depending on project requirements)
Rate: ÂŁ50 - ÂŁ90 per hour (dependent on experience)
Status: Outside IR35
