Maintenance Engineer – Food Manufacturing

4:00am – 12:00pm | £40,000
10:00pm – 6:00am | £50,000
We’re working with a well-established food manufacturing business who are looking to appoint a Maintenance Engineer to support the planned, preventative and reactive maintenance of machinery and equipment across site.
This is a great opportunity for someone hands-on, mechanically strong, and looking for long-term progression within a growing business.
The Role
Attend mechanical breakdowns and support machinery adjustments
Diagnose and repair faults across site equipment
Support and maintain PPM schedules, maintenance programmes and records
Assist with spare parts stock control and inventory
Keep the workshop tidy, organised and tools controlled
Support building fabric maintenance where required
Provide holiday and sickness cover as needed
Complete relevant documentation and liaise with managers to support site procedures
Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation About You
Previous mechanical engineering or maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
A positive, reliable and hands-on attitude
Strong communication skills and able to work well with all levels of staff
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Desirable
Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HND or similar)
Welding or fabrication experience
Basic electrical knowledge
Confident using a PC to complete maintenance logs and paperwork What’s on Offer
£40,000 (4am–12pm shift)
£50,000 (10pm–6am shift)
37.5 hour week
20 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
